Wedding Guidelines
Weddings should be scheduled no less than one month in advance and no earlier than one year in advance. The guidelines below are meant to assist you in planning for your rehearsal and wedding ceremony. Please make sure to read the following thoroughly.
Deposits and Fees
- Fee (Member or Non-Member) — $450 and $50 deposit, for a total of $500. The only thing this fee does NOT cover is any honorarium for the officiating pastor OR for use of video.
- The $50 deposit is refundable up to 3 months prior to your date should you decide not to have your wedding at CityView.
- The remaining $450 is due at the scheduled consultation meeting with the Wedding Coordinator one month before the wedding date.
Holidays and Weddings: Weddings and wedding rehearsals may not be scheduled on the following holiday weekends: Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Weekend, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day and week following Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Facility Guidelines: The facilities at CityView Church are both meant for your wedding AND the ongoing worship services and ministries of CityView Church. Please respect the property and the various restrictions in light of the facility's many uses.
- The church will remove musical equipment from the stage area by noon on Friday. A few items cannot be moved off the stage. These items will be discussed with you by the wedding coordinator.
- No food or drinks may be taken into the auditorium (apart from the communion elements).
- All guests, decorations and personal items must be cleared from the auditorium, Bride's Room and Groom's Room by 9 p.m. on the day of the wedding. While janitorial services are provided, the wedding party is responsible for general clean-up.
- The church assumes no responsibility for the security of personal articles.
- Intoxication by any member of the wedding party or family during the rehearsal or wedding is prohibited
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the church building, including restrooms and dressing rooms.
- The bride and groom are responsible for purchasing the candles and renting candelabras. The candles should be unscented and either 3" or 6" in height.
- No nails, glue or tape are to be used to fasten any decorations to the furniture, building, carpet or other equipment.
- Because of our facility set-up, we do not have a center aisle. Chairs are not allowed to be moved to make a center aisle for weddings unless EXPLICITLY agreed upon with the wedding coordinator (and with approval by CityView's pastors). Please keep this in mind when planning the wedding ceremony.
- At this time, we are unable to accommodate rehearsal dinners or receptions on campus with the exception of a small reception in the front lobby. If you wish to use the outdoors, please discuss with the wedding coordinator.
- If you decide on a wedding during the month of December, please keep in mind that the church might have Christmas decorations in place. The decorations could change each year, therefore actual pieces used during Christmas are not known until December of each year. Christmas decorations will not be moved or taken down for weddings during the month of December.
- Any use of video projectors or video related equipment will require an additional $50 for someone to both be at rehearsal and to monitor the equipment.
- The officiating pastor leads the rehearsal time. The wedding coordinator or the bride's mother or the bride's friends are welcome to assist as needed prior to rehearsal starting, but will not be permitted to direct activities during the actual rehearsal time.
- The wedding license should be given to the officiating pastor no later than 30 minutes prior to the wedding ceremony. The officiating pastor will take care of sending the signed license to the county clerk's office.
- The officiating pastor will be at the rehearsal on time and will arrive on the wedding day no less than 30 minutes prior to the ceremony and will remain no less than 30 minutes after the ceremony.
Floral, Musical and Photography Guidelines
- Any florist is responsible to see that the church is clean when decorating is complete. The church is not responsible for storing any wedding decorations. All decorations must be cleared from the church building by 9 p.m. on the day of the wedding.
- Flower girls may use fake rose petals only.
- All wedding music must be approved by the Wedding Coordinator. This list should be turned in to the Wedding Coordinator during the consultation meeting one month before the wedding date.
- The photographer and videographer may take pictures before and after the ceremony in several areas of the building — Bride's Room, Groom's Room, lobby area and the auditorium. We ask that the photographer be as unobtrusive as possible during the ceremony (if using a CityView Pastor).
