Wedding FAQ's

• Do I have to be a Covenant Member or regular attender to get married at CityView?

No, anyone can request to have their ceremony at CityView, however not all weddings are approved. Each wedding request is decided on a case-by-case basis. No extra fee is charged for non-members to hold a ceremony at CityView.

• Does CityView offer premarital counseling?

Yes. All covenant members of CityView or couples being married by a CityView pastor must complete a premarital counseling course. If, because of time constraints you won't be able to do premarital counseling through CityView, you will need to go through premarital counseling through the Center for Christian counseling at your own expense.

• If I have my wedding at CityView, does a pastor from CityView have to officiate the ceremony?

No, a pastor from CityView does not have to officiate your wedding. You may request another pastor of your choice by submitting their name on the wedding application in the blank titled "Officiating Pastor." Any pastor outside of CityView must be approved through our Pastors. We do require a copy of the pastor's ordination certificate and/or license.

• Can a pastor from CityView officiate my wedding at another location?

Yes. However, premarital counseling must be completed before your wedding date to have a pastor from CityView officiate your wedding.  Go to our pre-marriage request page to get the process started.

• Can we move the chairs around in the auditorium to make a center aisle, even if I provide my own people to move them?

No, the chairs in the auditorium may not be moved for weddings unless explicitly agreed upon by your wedding coordinator (and in consultation with CityView's pastors).

• Does CityView have space to hold a reception and/or rehearsal dinner?

No, at this time we are unable to accommodate rehearsal dinners or receptions on campus unless done outdoors with a tent (at the couple's expense and with due attention to any noise-permit issues addressed ahead of time).

• What are the fees for a wedding at CityView?

The fee is $500. This includes use of the church during your rehearsal and wedding ceremony, the services of a wedding coordinator, an audio technician and minor custodial clean up after the wedding.  A video technician is $50 extra.  This fee does NOT include homorarium for pastor that officiates the ceremony.
