Pre-Marital Counseling

Thank you for interest in the Premarital Counseling Ministry at CityView. Our greatest hope is that we could partner with you in making a Christ-centered marriage.

In our premarital process, engaged couples are assigned a pastor or equivalent to walk them through both the "Prepare" Inventory and a host of assignments. Engaged couples are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. You will generally have 6 sessions with the first lasting 2 hours and subsequent sessions lasting 90 minutes.

The costs for pre-marital includes the "Prepare" assessment ($30) and recommended book/s.  The actual sessions are a ministry of CityView church and are therefore free. 

Here is how the process will go:

• Once you have received confirmation that your registration has been received, send a check for $30* to the following address:

*This will cover your cost for the Prepare Inventory.  Please put "Pre-marital" in the memo of your check.

• Order a copy of "Sacred Marriage" by Gary Thomas and begin reading.
• Once your check has been received, you will be emailed passwords for you and your fiancé to take your Prepare test online. The test is meant to be taken separately without input from each other.  Upon completion, someone will setup a first appointment within two weeks.  If you have not received a phone call or email within two weeks of completing the Prepare inventory, please email us at
• At your first meeting, you will receive an outline of pre-marital sessions and homework assignments.  At some point during the counseling, you will either take a one-day seminar on the "Genesis of Marriage" or receive the same information during one of your pre-marital sessions.
